Emeka Ibemere

For seventy-three years, it has been a spotlight in Kaduna, Kaduna States, North West Nigeria. The attention the church attracted there then was not because of its edifices but because of the awe inspiring services in which the church has been able to carry on its evangelical exercise.

For these years, it operated its service under the ancient architectural relics with it’s over thousands of congregation. The church while in Kaduna was dominated by mainly South Western people of the Yoruba tribe and for all these seasons, they ecclesiastically worshiped the Lord without fears.

Three years ago, the spiritual head of the Church led by the spirit told the members about the relocation of the church. The most Reverend Samuel A Abidoye heeding to the vision he received from God, on the need to relocate the church’s headquarters from Kaduna, constituted the Galilee Land Development Committee, to build edifying place of worship for God.

But one man has taken the building of the five bedrooms with two rooms’ office apartment as a stepping stone for the take-off of the construction of various structures within to be constructed on about 90 hectares of land.

The five bedrooms and two rooms office project is being sponsored by Special Apostle, Dr. Remi Awode, Chairman, Chemstar Industries; the makers of Fine coat paints. According to Awode, its part of his contribution in the propagation of God’s work and a way of showing appreciation to God for what he has done in his life.

Other structures to be cited within the headquarters of the church include offices for each district numbering 56 districts across the country, health centre for the usage of members, congress arena and private guest house and hotel for visitors from every parts of the world.

Also arrangement is going by the church with private investors in education sector for partnership in form of Private Public Partnership (PPP) on all cadres of school ranging from nursery, primary, secondary and university education.

The new headquarters of the church is to be built to meet international standards with several features such as parking space that can contain thousands of cars at a time, recreation, public toilet and other social utilities.

On Tuesday 25 February, 2014, during the foundation laying ceremony, for the church, Baba Aladura Office and residential quarters on Ibadan-Ilorin Expressway, Orile-Igbon, it was a beehive of activities as all that matters in the church were available to share in the glory of God in the life of the 73 years old church.

All the contributors did it for free.  The 90 hectares of land were acquired by the church some years ago.

Most Reverend Samuel Abidoye is the fifth spiritual father/chairman, Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church Worldwide; with headquarters in Kaduna, Kaduna State.

Born into a royal family over 80 years ago, in Omu Aran Kwara State, Eni Owo, Baba Aladura spent years in London, as a member of the British Council of Churches, since 1976, before he returned home and was anointed as the spiritual father in 2006.

It would be recalled that members of the church believed that the Cherubim and Seraphim Church is a spiritual church established in Nigeria in 1925, through the divine revelations. According to them, the Lord Almighty divinely ordained the establishment through His son Jesus Christ, who through the Holy Spirit inspired Saint Moses Orimolade Tunolase for the establishment.

They claimed that the spiritual inspiration started on September 9, 1925 and the Church was named Seraphim by revelation while Cherubim were also added through revelation in May of 1926.

In the growth and the spreading of the spiritual work, five (5) other arms of the Cherubim and Seraphim emerged between 1925 and 1932, in the Southern part of Nigeria. In the late 1930s, some prominent elders who were previous members of C & S from the South were inspired by the Holy Spirit to establish the C & S Movement of Northern Nigeria.

By 1941, the first conference of the Movement was held at the Headquarters in Kaduna, Nigeria with four churches in attendance. These Churches were Kaduna, Jos, Zaria and Kano States. Now, with over 50 Districts across Nigeria, the church has rapidly grown to all the six corners of Nigeria and overseas.

The name was changed to the C & S Movement Churches - Nigeria and Overseas. The Movement Conference currently consists of 45 Districts spread over Nigeria, Europe and the United States of America.
