Day Imo State indigenes rewarded for their philanthropy and community development

The event was an honour prettily reserved for those who are community oriented and their philanthropy.  It was to give honour to whom honour is due.
Thursday July 10, 2014, the Opinion Research and Communications Inc. and Imo Network of professionals rewarded some prominent Imo State indigenes with award on their private effort in sacrificing for the communities in Imo State.
The venue was at the Benchmark hotels, Owerri and it attracted a huge crowd that added glamour and finesse to the event.
According to the organizers, it was done to recognize the recipients’ contribution to boost community service and development in their areas of endeavors.  
Mr. Ken Ojiri, Dr. F.B Adeniyi, Rev Fr. Dr. Emeka Emeakaraoha, Sir Raphel Ozoemena Igbo, HRH, Eze Augustine Adiele Nwigwe and Sir Peter Onyewuenyi were recognized by the organizers of the event for their sacrifice to humanity in Nigeria.
According to the organizers, the recipients were honoured for their exceptional contribution and assistance in the area of community development.
Ojiri, a frontline Peoples Democratic Party, PDP’s Governorship aspirant in Imo State was honoured alongside some others who have also made useful contributions in these areas of life
Other recipients and Ojiri, a financial controller and international tax expert according to Dr. Chuks Osuji, Special Event Co-coordinator, was selected after due selection process. Osuji explains that the award was very credible, adding that the awards were not tagged with pecuniary gains.
He stated that over the years, his organization have organized similar events in the past for reasons other than to encourage philanthropists in the society to do more and to challenge others to follow suit.
He said it has been part of the corporate mission of his award- giving –organization, since 1988 to research, identify, select and recognize men, women and organizations who have in whatever way touched the lives of the people or who have used their resources to enhance the living standard of their communities for the benefit of humanity.
Earlier in his speech, Chairman of the event, Dr. Charles Amanze, commended the awardees for the award given to them urging them not to relent. He said the award was a morale booster for the awardees, imploring them to carry on with what has brought them honour. 
Mr. Ojiri who was represented by Mr. Canice Okorie, Projects Director, Ken Ojiri Foundation, thanked those who organized the award for deeming it appropriate to reward Mr. Ojiri for his massive contribution and service to community development.
According to him, Ken Ojiri is one of the serious contenders for the Imo Governorship seat on the PDP platform and that his message to Imo indigenes has always been- salvaging Imo State to the grassroots.
His representative explained that Ojiri has inaugurated a support group that would drive his aspiration among the local populace scattered in the 27 local Government Areas of Imo State.

According to his representative at the event, the international financial controller, has explained why he wants to be governor of Imo State in 2015.
While speaking later at the inauguration of Ken Ojiri Support Group in Owerri, he said he seeks for a strategic partnership with the people, describing them as indispensable components in the search to make Imo State better.
He said he has the ability to move Imo State forward if the abundant resources of the State is effectively deployed and managed for the overall good of the people.

Ojiri said as a manager of resources, a financial controller and an international tax expert, the key to a better Imo State lies in prudent management of the resources of the State for the betterment of the people, adding that the State has the capacity to rank among the economic viable states if he is elected the State Governor in 2015.
Referring to members of his support group, he charged them to be agents of change that would take his message to those in the hinterlands, which will provide them ample opportunity to key into his vision for a prosperous Imo State.
“We must all put hands together to succeed. We are all stakeholders and partners in this project of making Imo State better. We must counter the deceit of the present government and we can only achieve this if we bring in the people to be project managers in the search for an Imo State of our dreams,” Ojiri stated, adding that he is academically qualified to govern the State, while describing himself as a hybrid that has spent most of his life at home and abroad, and understands what it takes to make Imo State, a place where the people would fulfill their expectations.
“We have the competence to succeed. We must connect ourselves with ideas and success will be an off-shoot of our collective efforts,” he declared.
In his response, Mr. Peter Udochi, representing Ikeduru LGA said, he was fascinated with the speech delivery and oratory power of Mr. Ojiri, describing his desire for a better Imo State as exemplary. 
He urged Mr. Ojiri to maintain his unique quality and channel his energy to the success of his aspiration. Mr. Ken Njoku representing Owerri Municipal assured Ojiri of total support while Hon Nnanna Okoro from Ahaizu Mbaise said Mr. Ojiri should not relent in his aspiration but also seek for God’s guidance.
In his remarks, Project Manager, Ken Ojiri Foundation, Kennis Okoro, said the support group was set up in ensuring the actualization of the task of making Ken Ojiri Imo State Governor and urged members to be supportive of the cause.
