Barely one week after Governor Isa Yuguda of
Bauchi State withdrew from the Northern States Governors Forum (NSGF)
and suggested sabotage on the part of some of his colleagues in the
failure of Plateau State’s Governor Jonah Jang to clinch the
chairmanship of the Nigerian Governors Forum, the NSGF today began a
crucial meeting in Kaduna.
The meeting will also discuss such issues as the State of Emergency declared in three states of the region in response to the Boko Haram insurgency, including the possibility of shortening the emergency rule.
