The Keys of the Kingdom of Heaven Ministries’ women tackle divorce among Christians

Emeka Ibemere
Following the unbridled divorce cases recently ravaging Christians homes in Nigeria, The Glorious Women of The Keys of the Kingdom of Heaven Ministries, located at 2 Falana Street, Killa Bus Stop, Ejigbo, in Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos State, organised their third annual convention, ‘tagged Vessel of Honour’, last weekend in Lagos State as a way of bringing women, especially married ones under the canopy of God.
The event which attracted the women in business, corporate bodies, individual women, career women, those in politics, religious, education, civil service, civil society and academia, hammered on the need for women especially married women to take their marriage and husbands, religiously.
Introducing the programme, the national coordinator of the women who doubled as the host of the event and the wife of the general overseer of ministry, Evangelist Anna Elu

chie, said; “today’s event is the annual women convention and its all about teaching women on how to have good character, appreciate their husbands, how to build capacity training in raising up their kids in Godly ways. It’s also on how to teach women how to build on communication as one of the keys to a successful marriage,” she stated.
“It’s mostly on character and that is why it’s tagged: Vessels of Honour.” According to her, the three days programme has impacted much on the women adding that the result of the event would produce good fruit in no distant time.
“Yes, I think it has impacted much on the women of this ministry because, I can see great changes in their life since they came into the ministry. This is the third convention of the programme. The first one was called the women of impact; the second one is called the women of wisdom and this third one is vessel of honour.” Evangelist Eluchie quipped. “I expect our women to get closer to Jesus this end-time and be an outstanding women anywhere they are; they have to be outstanding in their marriage, business, Christian life, their homes and in raising up their children, they have to be outstanding.”
The Evangelist urged women to always show respect to their husbands, and exhibit good example anywhere they are as good women of honour. She tasked Christian women all over the world to change their attitude and character if their characters are not good.
Mrs. Ijeoma Ekwueme, the women leader of the group while delivering her welcome address, said because of the changing faces of the present world and its challenges that God revealed to them about the topic of this year’s convention as: “Vessel of Honour” adding that vessel of honour is a degree of life a child of God must attend.
“It is a degree that brings one before the presence of the living God. It is a degree one attends after purging himself or herself,” Ekwueme added.
“Any one that is vessel of honour stands and lives the life of Christ, which the foundation is of His kingdom and His principles.”
Speaking further, Mrs. Ekwueme, added that the event was all about training of women on how to cherish their husbands and that was why the inspiration of entitling this year’s convention theme as: vessels of honour came up; “because in our world today, there are so many challenges facing women and you can see divorce everywhere, and we are trying to bring them according to the standard of God.” She explained. “With this programme and the teachings they have been receiving in the last three days; in bring them up to be able to build Christian homes. There are newly married ones among us and because they are young, we are teaching them how to love their husbands and give him his position and honour in their marriages” “When you carry out investigation today, you would discover that divorce cases are among the young and newly married ones. We have to teach them on how to take care of their husbands, their kids and their domestic affairs without resulting into quarrel and eventually divorce.”
According to Ekwueme, lack of God’s knowledge is what is causing divorce today everywhere rather than poverty. She explained that because both men and women are lacking in the knowledge of God they call for divorce at every slight provocation.
“If they know God, they cannot call for divorce because bible said the word of God is God himself; if you know God’s word one should know that in every trials and temptation, you have to be contempt with what God has giving to you,” she stated.
“So, many women are not satisfied with their husbands’ condition because they see their husband as poor man but a good vessels woman will pray for her husband knowing that nobody was born poor and as a woman, what they need do is to encourage their husbands because; behind every successful man, there is a woman.”
Ekwueme counselled women to try and get close to God because He is the foundation of man’s life.
“My advice to women is that they should try and know God because He is our foundation because if you don’t have him, you will fail. We are in the world of flesh and everything is not about the flesh, we should know that God we serve is alive and can do all things,” she added
Women should come under the umbrella of Christ because He is the head of the Church bearing in mind that our husbands are our head. I want women in Nigeria to embrace Christ and the word of God but living a worldly life cannot help but one in Christ cannot be in crises.”
Pastor Eluchie, vision holder and general overseer of The Keys of the Kingdom of Heaven Ministries, said it was a great event when women of the church gathered together to celebrate their quality life in Christ Jesus.
“It’s our women event and a great honour to our women who are celebrating their yearly convention. Its great event in the life of Christian women of this ministry who are daughters of Abraham,” he explained further
“They are celebrating quality life in Christ Jesus because as they tagged their message-“Vessels of Honour” and you know for one to be a vessel of honour, she must have purged herself or disciplined himself or herself in order to earn respect. They invited other women to learn how to respect their husbands, manage their homes and worship God,” Pastor Eluchie advised
“My message to women is that they should have their foundation in Christ Jesus, read the word of God and live a quality and exemplary life as a lamp unto other women to see and emulate. I urge them to continue to uphold Christ and keep on looking unto Christ without fear.”
Sermonising on the Convention’s theme: “Vessels of Honour” Evangelist Anna Ogu, the Guest Minister pointed out five key factors that destroys marriage and asked the women to always pray against them. She called on women to shun constant nagging, learn how to shut up when their husbands are angry, have good character, show respect, be supportive and have self confidence, explaining that without all these in any home such marriages are on their way to wreckage. Evangelist Ogu said beauty is nothing without character. “Let your character be inspiring and motivating. Lack of respect kills marriages and women should know that men are ego conscious. Women should honour their husbands with submission, obedience and love,” Evangelist Ogu said.
She called on women to always ask God to give them spirit of silence when their husbands are angry and talking and that challenging them at that time could spell doom for such a woman. The event was spiced with bible recitations, drama, special songs, opening of bible verses competition and hours of praise songs.
