FIVE KIDS ESCAPE DEATH IN A FIRE OUTBREAK
Five kids escape death early this morning along Kwaru Family Way Abaranje  Road, Ikotun in  Alimosho area of Lagos, when a story building went up in flames following power surge from the Power Holdings Nigeria Limited (PHN). It started when PHN restored light in the area after taking the light yesterday due to heavy down pour. The occupants of the flat that went on flames left for work this morning apparently without switching off their electrical appliances which resulted to an explosion leading to the inferno.

Daily Signpost gathered that the kids were alone in the house when the fire started. The eldest one among them, about 4 years old summoned courage and took other four out of the house before their room could burnt to flames. It was gathered that their parents both lawyers had gone to work when the inferno started.
According witness, the two kids were joined by their neighbor's kids who visited them because their own parent were also out of the house.
The neighborhood who contacted the local police and men of the State Fire Service in Ikotun said the fire started from a bedroom of the house before spreading to the rooftop causing heavy balls of smoke.

The occupants of the four flats of the building were tenants. However, the fire service men battled to put off the fire before it could spread to other flats. The landlord or the owner of the house was seen panicking and shouting as the mother of the kids were contacted on her mobile phones.
