Police set to prosecute man who hides Mother's Corpse for 10 Years



Police in Imo State has completed prosecution procedure to arraign Dr Chimezie Osuigwe who hides the corps of his mother in cupboard in his bedroom for 10 years. According to Daily Signpost police source in Owerri, the prosecution is billed to take place next week.

The  62 year old retired vice-principal was arrested by the Imo state police for allegedly killing his mother and hiding her corpse in his house since 2003.

Dr. Chimezie Osuigwe was arrested after the embalmed body of his mother was discovered hidden in a cupboard in his house yesterday Monday April 14th by another family member. 
Police say the body of the woman, Lucy Osuigwe, who was declared, missing in 2003, 'was found in a large cupboard inside a shrine in a private room in a circumstance depicting ritual practice.'
The police believe the retired educationist and devotee of the Guru Maharaji sect, killed his mother for ritual purposes. Dr. Chimezie Osuigwe is being held for first degree murder.
