It was at
the serene area of Oshodi on Friday October 24, 2014, at the Akinrele
Auditorium of the Federal Institute of Industrial Research, (FIIRO), Oshodi
Lagos State, when De-Intellectlinks
Nigeria, a youth leadership Empowerment and National Reorientation programme
with membership across the six-geographical zones of the country met recently
to reposition Nigeria and build a country that would stand on honesty,
integrity, good character and competence.
The event
was the media briefing by the organisation on the forth coming 2014 Exceptional
Leadership Conference, ELC, with the theme: ‘Redefine Nigeria’ which holds on
Saturday November, 1 2013 at the Lagos State NUT Pavilion Hall, Plot 5, Block
B, NERDC Road, CBD, Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos State.
Kelechi
Okorie, Chief Executive Officer De-Intellectlinks Nigeria who doubles as
Executive Coordinator, Exceptional Leadership Conference (ELC), Nigeria in his
speech said the organisation is ready for the big conference coming up in
November adding that after the next month’s conference, Nigerians would no
longer be living without dreams and visions.
He said the
conference will give the new generation a new direction of life so as to avoid
the mistake of the previous generations in the nation building.
“The first
mandate is what we are set to accomplish at the forthcoming conference. For
several years, we have been asking the question: what is the Nigerian Cream. No
definite answer has been given as no one seems to know. We are absolutely sure
that the problems Nigeria is facing today as a nation are not unconnected to
this fact, because where there is no dream or vision, the people perish”, he
added. “Nigeria as a nation is perishing for lack of dream. No nation can
develop beyond the size of her dream. Our determination is that the coming
generations, especially as we begin another century journey will not make the
same mistake the previous generations made”.
The group
leader explained that at the conference, the group would make a proposal of
what they feel should be the Nigerian dream and propose 10 national core
values. “We specially invite every patriotic Nigerian youth to this
conference”, he stated.
Being a big
event, the group has pencilled down competent and eloquent speakers for the
conference as resource persons. The conference would deliberate on very salient
topical issues bothering on the nation.
Those to
speak on the issues are Professor Jide Elemo, Professor Abiola Kehinde, Mr Jimi
Agbaje, Dr (Mrs), Gloria Elemo, Reverend Alexander Faranpojo, Mavis Orji, Femi
Otta, and Oluwaseun Shogbamu and among others.
The group
has fraternity with FIIRO and in partnership with the Research Institute, FIIRO
has offered skilled acquisition trainings on specialised Agro-allied
technologies in line with de-Intellectlinks’ mandate and vision to empower
young Nigerians to be self independent and economic freedom. We joyfully
received the offer from the FIIRO, Oshodi to offer Skill Acquisition Trainings on
Special Agro-allied Technologies”, he said.
“FIIRO has
promised to offer over 16 skills of their latest technologies for free to all
participants at the Post-ELC/FIIRO Skill Acquisition Workshop. Some of these
technologies include Cassava flour production, Instant pounded yam flour
production, cassava bread and confectionary baking, Fufu flour production,
edible mushroom preservation, fruit juice, zobo production, palm wine bottling
and preservation, smoked fish technology, cassava starch, laundry soap and
toilet cleanser”.
Okorie said
he invites the youth of this nation for the life-changing conference, an
opportunity not to neglect. Daily Newswatch gathered that FIIRO is the major
sponsor of the conference.
“We want to
use this medium to call on the governments at all levels, companies,
organisations, Institutions and other well meaning Nigeria initiatives to come
and be part of this noble project so that together we can deliver a truly
transformed Nigeria by 2020”, Okorie said.
De-Intellectlinks
Nigeria Organisation claims to be a renowned 21st century revolutionary social
and business enterprise initiative established to offer intellectual services
to the Civil Society, Private and Governmental Sectors toward harnessing their
potentials in most viable means where they would attain maximum proficiency and

According to
the organisation, its cores are human capacity building (the foundation for
national development and prosperity), Youth empowerment and Positive image
creation for the nation.
It intends to
support the government in tackling the socio-environmental challenges and
limitations that aim to build youths into super-achievers and responsible
leaders, increasing moral standards and personal effectiveness, and also
assisting in developing blueprints and programmes that would create a desirable
environment for her citizens.
“Our core
influences cover leadership development, education, ideas and strategies
development, social networking, business enterprising, transformational
programmes, while our corporate philosophy is derived from the Bible verse that
says; “As iron sharpens iron; so is one man the countenance to another”. The
group stated in their statement.
According to
them, it’s “meaning is that when the intellectuals link together, they sharpen
each other and the effect is exceptional results. Therefore, human synergy is
our driving force. The company is run by young and dynamic university graduates
with distinctive and purpose-driven mindsets. The company officially commenced
in March 2009, with social activities and motivational platform while the
Visionary was still an undergrad with few volunteer workforce”.
A check on
the organisation revealed that it was incorporated under C.A.C in Nigeria in
2011. The leader of the group said the Organisation is pursuing two divine
mandates that it hopes to accomplish by 2020: The mandates are to redefine and
promulgate the Nigerian Dream and to chart a cause for “Ten Million Nigerian
Youths on Right Focus”.
“Here, we
praxis: integrity, excellence, hard work, intelligence, honesty and
togetherness. It is a nationwide campaign for a comprehensive national
transformation through the youth’s empowerment. These we wish to achieve
through our fivefold platforms”.
Okorie
further stated that their vision was to raise impeccable leaders and
distinguished citizens in the society who will transform and lead the nation
into its first world dream and with the dream to make a notable impact in the
Nigeria’s historical landscape, rekindle the spirit of patriotism among youths,
promote integrity, honesty and moral values, and to create an atmosphere where
love is expressed beyond ethnic and religious boundaries.
“Our Mandate
is to raise men and women through biblical principles and universal laws who
shall build the old waste places and raise up the foundations of many generations.
Who shall be called the repairers of the breach and the restorers of the
streets to live in Nigeria. (Isa. 58:12).
