Philanthropist
and Lagos State based businessman, has commended the Imo State Chairman of
People’s Democratic Party of Nigeria, PDP, for his quality leadership control
in the state and described him as ‘Mr. Fixer’
Speaking on
weekend in his Festac Town residence, Don Ohakwe said the role played by the
Chairman of the state in Imo State in bringing back her past leaders who left
the party angrily was of sterling quality, adding that with such person at the
helm of the party in the state; that Imo PDP would bounce back to take its
amiable position in the state.
According to the financial expert, Chief
Barrister Nnamdi Anyaehi’s leadership quality in steering the PDP ship in the
state is enviable. He disclosed that with him, PDP has reverberated to its
earlier position in the party politics of the state.
Ohakwe further
disclosed that Anyaehi met a scattered state PDP on assumption of duty but
within a spell of time, he has been able to fix together the fractured party. “PDP
in the state has in the last four years battling normalcy in the party
hierarchy following the abandoning of the party by its stalwarts which made
them to lose the 2011, gubernatorial election to its rival party, APGA but
Chief Nnamdi Anyaehi has done wonderfully well to bring peace to the fragile
party”, Mr. Ohakwe said.
It would be
recalled that the party witnessed mass exodus of her members to other rival parties
but Anyaehi’s leadership of the party has regain its lost members back into the
polity.
However, Ohakwe
hailed the wisdom and political tactics employed by Anyaehi to restore normalcy
to the state party structure.
Speaking
further, Mr Ohakwe explained, that chief Anyaehi is a grassroots mobiliser and
people’s leader, who has done well to move the PDP party in the state forward.
Acknowledging
his ability to lead the party to victory in 2015, Ohakwe reiterated the fact
that the state PDP boss is quintessential in the Imo State politics, adding
that he has all it takes to revive the party again.
Mr Ohakwe
who paid condolence visit to the PDP Chairman, chief Anyaehi during his
father’s burial in Nkwerre, Orlu senatorial zone, condoled with the
bridge-builder to bear the loss of his late father with fortitude, adding that
senior Anyaehi was a great philanthropist and community leader who was never
selfish but generous while he was alive and urged the PDP chairman to emulate
the virtues of his late father.
Recently,
big party stalwarts in the state played a massive return
back to the party they helped nurtured to win election but jumped ship during
the state party crises.
Among others who have returned to
the party are the former governor of Imo State, Chief Achike Udenwa to the
Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and Ohakwe, also a political analyst in the
state, described Udenwa’s return to the party as a big plus to the party while
praising the state chairman, Anyaehi as ‘Mr. Fixer.’
