Lagos State Police Command daily Press Bulletin



  ARREST OF SUSPECTED ARMED ROBBERS/RECOVERY OF ARMS AND AMMUNITION:
 On 26/4/2014 at about 1600hrs, policemen attached to Oko-Oba
Division acted on information, had a gun duel with some armed robbers.
Three of the armed robbers were arrested and two locally made pistol,
two live cartridges and a Bajaj Motorcycle snatched from the owner by
the robbers were recovered. The case is pending at State Criminal
Investigation Department, Yaba.
ARREST OF SUSPECTED ARMED ROBBERS/RECOVERY OF ARMS AND
AMMUNITION:-
On 26/4/2014 at about 2335hrs, police patrol team attached
to Victoria Island Division while on stop and search at Cowry pin down
point intercepted a Volkswagen commercial bus with Reg. No. APP 291 XG
with five occupants for a routine cheek. The occupants of the bus
jumped down and took their hills and the policemen gave them a hot
chase. Two of them namely Rasaki Ogunbiji ‘m’ age 22yrs and Dare
Ganiyu ‘m’ aged 20yrs were arrested while others escaped. Items
recovered from the vehicle are one chief revolver pistol and one cut
to size locally made pistol with two live cartridges. The case is
under investigation at State Criminal Investigation Department SCID
Yaba.
FIRE INCIDENT: - On 27/4/2014 at about 1040hrs fire gutted fifteen
(15) shops at No.7, Ifoshi Road Iyana Ejigbo. The fire was put out by
policemen and fire fighter mobilized to the scene.  Cause of fire and
value of properties destroyed are yet unknown. No life was lost and
case is now under investigation at Ejigbo Division.
ARREST OF CAR JACKERS:- 
On 28/4/2014 at about 2000hrs, policemen
attached to Ketu Division acted on a tip-off and arrested two suspects
namely Jimoh Ahmed ‘m’ aged 19yrs and Adamu Hamisu ‘m’ aged 26yrs with
a Honda S/Car with Reg. No. KJA 612 AE allegedly removed from park at
a church premises in Ojudu. The case is under investigation at SARS
Ikeja.
FATAL MOTOR ACCIDENT: - On 29/4/2014 at about 1400hrs along Ikorodu
Road, Ojota B/Stop one DAF Tanker with Reg. No. NSR 593 QX loaded with
PMS driven by one Ubale Mohammed ‘m’ of Nassarawa Local Government
Area, Kano State lost control and crushed the two legs of one Bamidele
Kikelomo ‘f’ a cleaner with Lagos State Waste Management Authority
(LAWMA). The tanker also hit one M/Benz C300 with Reg. No. KSF 800 AZ
driven by one Olutiti Ekumola ‘f’. The victim was rushed to Lagos
State Accident and Emergency Unit where she later died. The corpse has
been deposited at Mainland Hospital mortuary for autopsy. The incident
is under investigation at Ojudu Division.
