Democratic officers in Orlu zone have eulogized Ken Ojiri’s outstanding
qualities saying he is eminently qualified, with enormous electoral values that
make his aspiration a very viable one.
The
party leaders expressed this view while interacting with him at the party’s
zonal office in Orlu recently. Ojiri who was at Orlu in continuation of his wide
consultations had taken his audience through his vision and programmes for Imo,
assuring, with their help Imo can be fixed again, with a solid local economy to
fulfill the dream and aspirations of the founding fathers. In his words, “we
can redeem Imo and make it a place where our people can find fulfillment and
achieve the desired intellectual and economic fulfillment; where the security
of their lives and properties can be guaranteed.”
Receiving
him and his team at the Orlu zonal of office of the PDP, Chief Greg Madu, and
the Zonal Chairman noted that the number of aspirants seeking to rule Imo under
the umbrella of the Peoples Democratic Party re-establishes the fact that the
party is the most attractive and it is the party to beat. He expressed optimism
that the PDP will win all elections in the state.
The energetic zonal chairman enjoined party
faithfuls to work hard to ensure victory for the party in 2015. He further
counseled that contributions of our leaders should be appreciated and harmonized for victory while assuring Mr Ojiri his support and guidance.
In
his vote of thanks, Dr. Theo Ezeala , PDP Local Government Chairman of Njaba
noted that the aspirant (Mr. Ken Ojiri) did not waste their time in his speech
but was simple and honest in asking his listeners to place him side by side
with other aspirants and be scored with them to enable them make the best electoral
choice. He further expressed satisfaction with the aspirant’s modesty, saying
Ojiri’s statement that he would support anybody that emerges, if he does not
was very heartwarming and shows the spirit of a sportsman, noting that if other
aspirants would be of the same disposition the party’s problem would be reduced
drastically. Dr. Ezeala further noted that no aspirant has comfortingly told
them what Mr Ojiri has told them. He thanked him and asked him to come again.
Party
leaders present included Barr. Leo De Great Awazieama, South East Zonal
Organising Secretary, Barr. Isreal Onyeoziri, Zonal Secretary, Barr. Chijioke
Nzekwe, State Assistant Financial Secretary, Chief Benjy Azike, State Assistance
Orgainising Secretary, Mrs Ngozi Ihemdi, Zonal Women Leader, and most local
government party chairmen.
In
another development, Party leaders in Okigwe have described Ken Ojiri as an
outstanding and credible governorship aspirant. Ojiri who is seeking ticket under
the platform of the PDP met with the party leaders of Okigwe zone at its zonal
office in continuation of his consultation tour of the zones.
Addressing
the party leaders, Mr Ken Ojiri said, Imo needs a solid local economy to be
able to solve the myriads of social problems starring at the face of the state.
He identified unemployment as the problem that must be tackled head-on by deploying
conscious efforts at reviving and sustaining the local economy. He said he would
apply his experience acquired over the years as a financial and economic expert
to give the state a better deal and improve the well-being of the people, while
maintaing existing infrastructure and programmes that wil impact greatly on the
state.
Ojiri
who possesses 5 masters degrees and currently pursuing a Doctorate Degree
programme promised he would fix Imo and get it running as one of the most
viable states in the country. According to him, Imo has abundant human and
natural resources to keep it up and running and be less dependent on federal
allocations. He assured the leaders that he possesses all it takes to rebuild
Imo saying, if elected governor, he will provide structures that will guarantee
proper and economically rewarding employment for Imolites.
Speaking,
Chief Dominic Uzowuru, the Zonal Chairman, on behalf of other leaders thanked
Ojiri for being realistic. He assured him that they will consider him when the
time comes. He thanked Ojiri and his team for the visit and expressed his
willingness to give him the necessary guidance and cooperation he desires.
